2021 VW Tarok Pickup Truck: Redesign, Specs, Price, and Release Date. VW has recently introduced a new concept truck but unlike the Tanoak, this one actually will enter serial production. The 2021 VW Tarok Pickup Truck concept was present in North American at New York Auto Show and we expect that the production model will arrive already in the next year. It will be a pretty compact pickup, designed not just to be capable, but comfortable. The bad thing is that it won’t be available in the U.S. market, as the company’s spokesman said it is designed for the South American market.
Engine
At this point, we are sure about one engine that is about to come in the new 2021 Tarok Pickup Truck. It is a small 1.4-liter turbo-four gasoline engine, which is good for about 147 horsepower. These aren’t spectacular numbers, but keep in mind that this is a quite small and light truck. If not for any other reason, this is good in terms of fuel economy.
Given the unibody platform, this truck definitely won’t be extremely capable in terms of towing. On the other side, the company promises some pretty impressive numbers when it comes to payload capacity, which will allegedly go up to 2.270 pounds.
2021 VW Tarok Pickup Truck Design
When it comes to base design characteristics, the first thing we should mention is that the new 2021 VW Tarok Pickup Truck will be pretty compact in terms of size. It will measure just over 193 inches in wheelbase. For comparison, the Tacoma is almost 20 inches longer. Another thing we should mention is that the new model will ride on a unibody, MQB platform. That means the new truck won’t be very capable in terms of towing. On the other side, it will be comfortable, light and efficient.
In terms of the styling, you can easily notice a lot of elements borrowed from the Tanoak concept. Of course, the cues of the company’s familiar design language are here but upgraded with several details, including all those LED lighting groups. Still, we have to see that the new 2021 Volkswagen Tarok Pickup Truck looks far more production-ready than the Tanoak.
Interior
The 2021 VW Tarok Pickup Truck will be a quite small truck but the company didn’t want to sacrifice comfort. We count on a double cab design, which would provide space in both rows of seats. In terms of the cabin design, you can notice a lot of influence from models like VW T-Roc and similar vehicles. The dashboard looks classic but features loads of tech features, including a large digital instrument cluster, known as the Virtual Cockpit.
Given the truck’s size, it’s no wonder that you can’t count on some spectacular bed length. Still, the German carmaker comes with a very smart solution. The bed isn’t separated from the cabin, so once you fold rear seats, you can count on a pretty respectable bed size, which can accommodate large objects.
2021 VW Tarok Pickup Truck Release Date and Price
We presume that the production version will be ready pretty soon and that the new 2021 VW Tarok Pickup Truck will hit the market sometime in the next year. When it comes to the price, base models should go slightly under 25.000 dollars.
