2021 BMW Pickup Truck: Price, Concept, Specs, and Release Date. Despite that the officials have been denied the possibility to see such a vehicle from the Barvarian manufacturer in the near future, there are still reports that suggest we could see something like 2021 BMW Pickup Truck At this point, it’s all about rumors, but there are actually some pretty logical reasons why the Bavarian manufacturer should offer something like that. We’ve already seen a prototype of the BMW X7 Pickup Truck and it looks really great. Something similar, but probably smaller could hit the market in the near future.
Of course, the new 2021 BMW Pickup Truck would also rely on the company’s familiar units, particularly those that can be found under the hood of the X5. This primarily refers to two well-known units. The first one is a 3.0-liter inline-six, which delivers around 335 horsepower and which would be reserved for base versions. Of course, we also count on a 4.4-liter V8 unit with 456 horsepower. It’s not hard to presume that M-badged versions would be in the offer as well, while the European version would be available also with a diesel engine.
2021 BMW Pickup Truck Design
If you wonder how the new BMW Pickup Truck would look like, there is no doubt that the recent X7 pickup is the direction where you should look. Still, we expect to see something smaller in the serial productions. The reasons are obvious and they are mostly about the costs. The 2021 BMW Pickup Truck price needs to be competitive with traditional trucks that come from non-premium carmakers, so a full-size machine doesn’t make too much sense. On the other side, a mid-size truck would be a good pick, which leads us to the conclusion that the new 2021 BMW Truck would be based on the X5 model. This makes perfect sense, and also leads us to the conclusion that a unibody platform would be used.
2021 BMW Pickup Truck Platform
In the past few years, we’ve been getting all kinds of reports about the 2021 BMW Pickup Truck, and one of the things that have always bothered our minds was the platform. Considering that this carmaker doesn’t have any vehicle that rides on the body-on-frame platform (with the exception of the i8, but that’s a completely different universe), the logical solution would be a cooperation with some other carmakers. Many suggested a joint venture with Toyota, where the new 2021 BMW Truck would be based on Hilux or Tacoma. We are pretty sure that BWM won’t do such a thing, given the failure of the Mercedes X-Class, which is actually based on Nissan Navara.
The 2021 BMW Pickup Truck will go in a completely opposite direction. We will see a unibody platform design, which brings various benefits, especially for a vehicle that tends to be a premium pickup, which is more about performances and comfort than capabilities and overall utility. If you look at the Honda Ridgeline, you can clearly see that such a design provides a better driving experience and comfort. On the other side, don’t expect from this pickup truck to be particularly capable in terms of towing and payload capacity.
Styling and Interior Design
As we already mentioned, the 2021 BMW Pickup Truck would be based on the X5, which means a familiar CLAR platform, though probably stretched for this occasion. Visually, the two models would look the same from the front side. On the other side, the rest of the body would come in a typical truck manner. Of course, we are count on a crew cab layout, which plenty of interior space.
Speaking of the interior, we count on two comfortable rows of seats, while the dashboard should be designed in the same manner as the one that can be found in the X5. We count on the same layout, as well as on the presence of similar features and technologies.
2021 BMW Pickup Truck Release Date and Price
The model is just a rumor at the moment, so it’s hard to say something more about the possible launch date. The same thing refers to the 2021 BMW Pickup Truck price.
