Rivian says the all-new R1T will tow up to 11,000 pounds and it will offer astonishing acceleration. The off-road capable pickup truck will offer an impressive driving range. Somewhat strange exterior design is still looking attractive. From the inside, R1T will be luxurious.

The forthcoming 2020 Rivian R1T will offer astonishing acceleration and tow rating. What powers the electric pickup truck is the most intriguing thing about the R1T model. Mostly because Rivian released bold claims about the performance abilities. Whatsoever, the pickup will offer three different battery packs. If you opt for R1T model, you can choose between the 105 kWh, 135 kWh, and 180 kWh battery packs. The largest 180 kWh battery pack offers over 400 miles of driving range.
Rivian says the electric pickup will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in three seconds. How crazy is that? All details about the performances are yet to be confirmed. Rivian already released those details at the L.A. Auto Show. Four electric motors will power the 2020 R1T model. It means there will be a single motor for each wheel. Electric pickup will tow 11,000 pounds and you can charge the R1T model from 0 to 80 percent in less than an hour.
2020 Rivian R1T Design
The upcoming 2020 Rivian R1T comes with odd appearance. We probably didn’t see something similar in the past. On the other hand, the design looks attractive and modern. We find most of the styling cues very unusual for the pickup truck segment. R1T is unique in every possible way. Front part sports vertical headlight units equipped with LED technology.
A single LED strip up front is changing colors. During the charging, that strip will glow in green color. Side profile offers a more traditional look and the bed looks regular. Because of its off-road capabilities, R1T will offer skid plates as standard. So-called “skateboard” platform is height-adjustable and this truck offers 14.2 inches of ground clearance.

The interior of the all-new 2020 Rivian R1T will look premium. There will be room for five passengers and the comfort is guaranteed. Literally, everything from the inside is pure luxury. As Rivian says, the plan is to compete exclusively in the luxury segment.
The cabin offers numerous displays and it offers leather upholstery as standard. Interior is not only functional but also practical and customizable. Numerous unique amenities are visible at first glance. One fine example is a “gear tunnel” that can be found under the bed. It is actually a storage area that is lockable. We’ll have to wait for further interior details, but so far, everything looks promising.
Price and Release Date
The all-new 2020 Rivian R1T won’t come cheap, that’s for sure. Rivian already said the company’s plan is to compete in the luxury segment.
