An eight-speed gearbox is a shifter and drivers have a few different drive modes available for different weather and road conditions. With nearly 8 inches of ground clearance, the Tiguan has a good starting point for an off-road drive.
There are various sources reporting about the 2023 VW Tiguan E-Hybrid model. According to some of them, the configuration is not going to be available for North America. Well, some other companies tried the same recipe and then brought hybrid vehicles to US shores. The PHEV configuration is carried over to the compact crossover and offers 30 miles of electric range. Still, the Tiguan R remains the most impressive configuration in the lineup with 315 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque coming from the same 2.0-liter turbo-four unit.

We know about mid-size SUVs offering plenty of space inside the cabin. Some of them are adding the third row of seats to increase the seating capacity. Across the ocean, there are some compact models for seven passengers. The 2023 VW Tiguan Allspace is not available in all markets. It rivals Honda CR-V and Ford Kuga seven-seaters, models we can not imagine with more than two rows. The wheelbase is stretched and the crossover gains extra 10 inches. Volkswagen tested a few markets, but the Allspace model is now available only in Australia.
