There are so many rumors and news about the new GT. It is for sure that the manufacturer will change the whole GT line, in order to be much faster and stronger than before.

2020 Ford Mustang GT Specs

The 2020 Ford Mustang is assembled by Ford USA at the Ford Flat Rock factory in Michigan.

Like all sixth-generation units of the Ford Mustang, the 2020 Mustang continues to ride on the Ford S550 platform. The longitudinal-engine, rear-drive architecture is currently used exclusively on the Mustang.

ENGINE

The engine in 2020 Ford Mustang GT, according to the manufacturer, should be 5.2-liter V8 petrol unit. It is slightly weaker than 6.5-liter V8 that should be included in GT500. The strength of the model is expectedly smaller, only 3,800 pounds, instead of the stronger 4,500 pounds in GT500. The model should have a manual transmission and 700 horsepower of strength. The car should be driven by rear wheels. All of these should make this car closer to the Dodge Challenger, which is obviously the main competitor.

EXTERIOR

Luckily, the manufacturer has shown the very first version of the 2020 Ford Mustang GT so we can predict changes and other upgrades that they will use in higher trims. For now, it should not be much different from the last year model, with a recognizable rhomboidal mesh grille and sporty, but also a little old-fashioned two simple front lights. The bottom of the front bumper has a wide air intake, providing air for the stronger engine. The rear end should be sportier, with a spoiler on the trunk door and thin rear lights. The car is much more modernized, aiming to compete with the Chevrolet Camaro and Toyota GT86.

2020 FORD MUSTANG GT RELEASE DATE AND PRICE

We expect the 2020 Ford Mustang to follow the regular Ford Motor Company model year rollover sequence, and launch in the second or third quarter of the 2019 calendar year.

With all the information we have about 2020 Ford Mustang GT the January 2019 seems too far away from now, even we have less than two months. We should be patient and wait to see the first official version of the model and answers on all questions we may have. It sounds weird, but this amazing sporty car in the past had the price of only $25,000 for the standard model. The highest trim version has not gone over $45,000. We are not sure if those prices will be significantly different, but be prepared for at least a few thousands of dollars higher price than before.

Beyond 2020.

We expect that the sixth-generation Mustang will live on for at least the 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 model years, and that an all-new, future Ford Mustang will launch thereafter.
