It is a huge comeback for both Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models. This SUV could get a 4xe plug-in hybrid system. The very same setup can be found in the electric version of the Wrangler SUV. It is a two-year plan for Jeep and the fans are very excited.
Wagoneer was an iconic model. It became even more popular during and after the “Breaking Bad” series. Jeep was somewhat short of the full-size SUVs and both Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will slot above Grand Cherokee model. No doubts, huge changes are very likely so here’s what to expect.
Various Engine Possibilities
There is a lot of rumors about the possible powertrain options. No doubt, new 2022 Jeep Wagoneer will use both conventional gasoline engines and some sort of electrified powertrain. Even the diesel is a possibility. The latest information is saying that the Jeep will deploy a 4xe powertrain. It won’t borrow this engine from the Compass model. Instead, the manufacturer will develop a different plug-in hybrid system.
Both rear and all-wheel-drive setups will become available. Of course, our first guess is a 3.6-liter V6 as a standard engine option. A 5.7-liter V8 will be optional. FCA is also reportedly working on an inline-six engine dubbed the “Tornado.” This unit will have at least one turbocharger and it will deliver 360 hp. It’s range-topping version should generate around or above 500 horsepower.

Spy shots are available. New 2022 Jeep Wagoneer will arrive with a new shape, new styling, and new dimensions. This three-row SUV will be larger than the Jeep’s largest Grand Cherokee model. Two models will share a couple of similarities. That includes numerous styling cues and exterior features. On the other hand, Wagoneer will look unique for sure. According to numerous reports, this SUV will deploy the same architecture that underpins the Ram 1500 pickup.
Two models could share powertrain options. Jeep’s seven-slot grille is visible on the spy photographs, along with the new LED headlights. The front fascia is finished in a new layout and Grand Wagoneer will follow the same path. Most likely, Wagoneer will ride on standard 17-inch wheels. Jeep will offer short and long-wheelbase models.

According to numerous reports, the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer will arrive at the same time as the Grand Wagoneer variant. We don’t know that much about Grand Wagoneer at the moment. It should wear the same styling as its smaller sibling. The dimensions, the main difference will be the interior space.
Of course, Grand Wagoneer will arrive with more ample legroom and cargo capacity. That, we don’t expect any major differences. Both models will be larger than the current Jeep Grand Cherokee. Jeep plans to deliver two very upscale three-row SUVs and this is just a beginning.
2022 Jeep Wagoneer Price and Release Date
The all-new 2022 Jeep Wagoneer will go on sale in the last quarter of 2021. The price is still not available so we are not sure what to expect exactly. Grand Wagoneer is also coming to the markets and showroom debut will happen at some point this year.
