2021 Ford Everest Concept, Price, Specs, and Release Date. The Everest is a rare bird in today’s automotive industry for many reasons. Of all, it is one of the rare models today that are designed for a specific market. It is a genuine, truck-based SUV, which rides on a traditional body-on-frame platform, which isn’t such common thing anymore. Normally, we would expect that such state has to end soon, especially if we consider that the company is preparing a bunch of new models for the near future, which could serve for the global market. Ford has different things in mind and the latest reports are suggesting that the 2021 Ford Everest will come completely redesigned. It is expected to come with a lot of novelties, according to unofficial reports. The official ones are still unavailable. Expect to see the new model sometime in the next year.

Engines

When it comes to the engines, there are several potential candidates. The first that comes to mind is a 2.3-liter EcoBoost. It powers the new Ranger and which is good for about 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. Still, keep in mind that Australian drivers prefer diesel engines, so count on a familiar 2.0-liter diesel engine, which delivers around 210 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque. We expect to see one more gasoline engine in the offer, with smaller displacement and reserved for base trims.

Some reports are also suggesting a hybrid version, but that doesn’t sound so likely at the moment.

Exterior

If we can rely on the latest reports, the 2021 Ford Everest is about to come completely redesigned. If we consider that the current model has been around since 2012, this makes perfect sense, despite the fact that there aren’t too many competitors these days. The Everest competes primarily in Australia and there is just a couple of competitors, models like Toyota Fortuner and Isuzu MU-X. All three models are rugged SUVs, without compromises, focused on utility and off-road performances.

We don’t expect that the 2021 Ford Everest will change its nature too much. We have no doubt that will continue with a body-on-frame platform, most likely based on the new Bronco, which is expected to come next year. In practice, this means the same platform as the current model, though with significant improvements and plenty of new design solutions, borrowed directly from the F-150.

Of course, this redesign will bring novelties in terms of aesthetics. We count on a new styling, though exact details are still unavailable. At this point, we may only presume that the new styling probably won’t be as distinctive as the new Bronce. Most likely, the front end will be borrowed from the North American Ranger, though with some smaller modifications. The rest of the vehicle is expected to come in a typical mid-size SUV manner, with a wagon-like body and quite squarish lines.

Interior

On the inside, we count on a completely new cabin layout. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is a new dashboard design, which is expected to utilize finer materials and have a more stylish look. Count on lots of new features, especially when it comes to the latest tech goodies. On the other side, the overall layout shouldn’t be changed too much. Count on typical three-row cabin design.

That would probably mean sometime in the third quarter of the next year or so.
