This hint can be traced back as early as 2018 when the Senior Vice President for Global Design at Nissan Alfonso Abaisa implied such a possibility during an interview with Australian magazine WhichCar.
Since then, speculations have been arising, which particularly focused on a debate of whether the said car would be a redesign for the 370Z or a full model upgrade.
The same indication was also hinted at by Nissan’s corporate vice president of global and Japan product planning Ivan Espinosa, who mentioned that the Z-car is the company’s emblematic car that would certainly receive one of the highest priorities.
