The compact-sized Hyundai Kona debuted for the 2018 model year and it is the brand's smallest crossover SUV designed to compete with the Toyota C-HR and Nissan Juke. Hyundai launched the electric version for the 2019 season which is an alternative to models such as the Nissan Leaf and Chevy Bolt. The model was the first Hyundai crossover SUV to adopt the brand's new design formula with the cascading grille and split-style headlights. The new styling theme appeared afterward on the Santa Fe and other new models. After three model years on the roads, the next 2021 Hyundai Kona should receive several upgrades.
