2018 Jeep Patriot Price, Specs, Color, Review, Pics. The strange decision Jeep made when it launched two compact crossover SUVs back in 2007, now has got an epilogue. It seems now that there is no room for the two similar vehicles in brand’s lineup and instead of the new 2018 Jeep Patriot, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will offer the all-new 2018 Jeep Compass which is the replacement for both the Patriot and existing Compass.
For those who loved Patriot’s blocky styling which was the main distinction from the similar Compass with which it shared its underpinning and powertrains, will now get more modern vehicle equipped with the latest tech and safety achievements but also with a strong off-road ability.
2018 JEEP PATRIOT POWERTRAIN
When the new Compass will be available as the replacement for the 2018 Jeep Patriot it will be equipped with the one engine for in the US. Motivating the new model will be a 2.4-liter TigerShark MulitiAir 2 engine. It uses auto stop/start technology and can produce 180 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque.
The engine will work in pair with the one of three transmissions. Models with the front-wheel drive will be available with either 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmissions. A 6-speed manual or 9-speed automatic can be combined with the four-wheel drive.
Jeep promises that this new model will reach 30 mpg in some configurations. The buyers will also have a chance to choose from the standard Active Drive four-wheel drive and Active Drive Low system.
2018 JEEP PATRIOT NEW NAME, NEW DESIGN
Contrary to the styling we can see on the exciting Patriot model, the replacements for the 2018 Jeep Patriot will lose its blocky look for more modern and close to Grand Cherokee design cues. The new Compass model looks like smaller Grand Cherokee but also share a lot of similarities with the Renegade, which is a good thing if you want our opinion.
The Patriot replacement has Jeep’s signature seven-slot grille which resides between nicely accentuated headlights. Profile side features trapezoidal fender flares and pronounced beltline. The rear side also looks more sculpted and there are also new taillights.
On the other hand, what is also important to mention, this new model sits on the “small-wide” unibody platform. This light and stuff unibody structure has been made of 65 percent high-strength steel.
INTERIOR, TRIMS, FEATURES
Inside, the model also brings more modern design and the newest technology. The quality of materials is better as well as the comfort.
The fourth generation of the Uconnect infotainment system will also be there. The instrument panel will also be available with either 3.5-inch information display or 7-inch digital cluster.
The new model will, however, come in four trims including Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk.
The Trailhawk will get unique styling with anti-glare hood decal and of course off-road features like lifted suspension, hill-descant control, improved approach and departure angles, the Select-Terrain system, etc.
