2021 Honda Odyssey Redesign, price, Release Date, and Colors

2021 Honda Odyssey Redesign, price, Release Date, and Colors. The Honda Odyssey Type R is categorized as a mid-size minivan, and its purpose is for family needs. The fifth-generation Odyssey was launched at the end of October 2013 and it is still present on the market. Now, we are going to talk about the newest model which is the 2021 Honda Odyssey Type R.

2021 Honda Odyssey Redesign

It is paired with the aggressiveness and style of the Type R badge. With this in mind, the crazy thing about this car is that it is family oriented but still very manlike. It meets the needs of strength and speed you all crave without sacrificing your manhood. In the full-size luxury MPV category, this car is competitive with the Toyota Alphard and Nissan Elgrand.

ENGINE

The standard Odysseys has a 3.5-liter V-6 engine with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. It is a lot weaker than the Type R standard 2.0 liter which provides 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. This is not negligible, but this heavy vehicle needs more power. With this in mind, Honda has two options, to put either the Odyssey’s standard engine or Type R’s. It was hard decision to make, so Honda seized the opportunity to put the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 from the Acura NSX.

2021 Honda Odyssey Release Date

This engine delivers the full 500 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque but the Odyssey Type R’s will have a different setup. It will still be enough to fulfill all your needs. To conclude, under the hood of the 2021 Honda Odyssey Type R we can find the 3.5-liter V-6 engine which provides a 445 horsepower and 373 pound-feet of torque. This amount of power will be delivered with the six-speed transmission. Let’s not forget that top speed sits at an insane 186 mph and that it reaches 0-60 mph in 4.1 sec.

REDESIGN

If the Odyssey Type R brings the same style as well as the Honda Civic, it will be full hit. We all know how hard it is to get a spy photo sometimes, but for now, we have a rendering of the upcoming model. Let’s talk about the exterior design. At the front fascia, there will be the gloss black grille with red Honda emblem and the Type R emblem. We can also see the big fog lamps which are set in those big vents in the corners.

There is the fender vent which is right above those Type R wheels. As for the sides, there are standard mirrors adjusted with the window trim. To complete the style around back, Honda puts the Civic Type R’s spoiler. We must mention the moonroof which gives you and your passengers more pleasant night rides.

The inside of the 2021 Honda Odyssey Type R is slightly modified for the perfect balance of family functionality. The front seats, the instrument cluster, and the infotainment display of the previous model are replaced with the Civic Type R’s. Higher quality materials like black leather and Red piping are standards, with the red emblems added traditionally. If you look down, you’ll see all three of pedals are made from the aluminum. And, as usual, the center seat is still comfortable to remove just as it was on previous models.

2021 HONDA ODYSSEY TYPE R RELEASE DATE AND PRICE

As we know from before, the Type R models are not cheap at all. The “Elite” commands $46,670, but let’s be aware the Odyssey Type R is much more powerful so it must be more expensive. The price will be set by, at least, $56,000. It is up to you to decide, but all of us have to wait for the release. The release date is not yet specified, but this car might soon be released at the end of 2019.
