2021 Cadillac XT6 Horsepower, Specs, Redesign, and Price. With the recent debut of the all-new 2021 Cadillac XT6, the premium brand has now a more car-like, three-row, crossover SUV which provides more sophisticated ride and comfort than the truck-based Escalade. Larger than the compact XT5 and smaller than the full-size Escalade, the new model filled the gap in the brand’s range of the mid-size model. The new, three-row Cadillac competes in the heavily contested arena with the models such as the Audi Q7, BMW X5, Mercedes GLE and Volvo XC90.

The new version will initially go on sale in two trims and the single engine will be in the offer. The model will provide pliantly of passenger and cargo space and combined with the well-appointed and equipped interior. The buyers will also get the many latest entertainment and safety features as the standard equipment. With available upgrades, the level of refinement and tech can also be lifted higher.

2021 CADILLAC XT6 POWERTRAIN

Cadillac promises the sophisticated driving dynamics with the 3.6-liter DOHC V-6 engine under the hood of the 2021 Cadillac XT6. The same engine powers the XT5 delivering 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. The engine works in the combination with the 9-speed automatic transmission exploiting the new generation Electronic Precision Shift. The engine uses also Active Fuel Management system and can operate as V-4 under lighter loads.

Premium Luxury version comes with the standard front-rear drive and all-wheel drive is optional. Sport version is with all-wheel drive by default. Properly equipped, the three-row Xt6 can tow up to 4000 pounds.

The fuel economy isn’t known. The XT6 should also gain the turbochargers and battery hybrid system later in the life cycle.

2021 CADILLAC XT6 DESIGN

The new 2021 Cadillac XT6 is naturally based on GM’s platform and shares also plenty of running gear with other similar models from the parent company. The C1XX platform is the variant of the E2XX architecture and the replacement for the Theta and Lambda platforms. This underpinning is also the base of the Cadillac XT5, Buick Enclave, Chevy Traverse, and GMC Acadia.

The Cadillac crossover SUV is larger in all directions than the compact XT5 and similar to the size of the Audi Q7. The wheelbase of the model stretches 117.2 inches which just 0.2 inches longer than that of the XT5. The new three-row Cadillac is, however, 198.8 inches long while the XT5 has 189.5 inches from bumper to bumper.

Visually, Cadillac’s new family hauler adopts brand’s newest design language with similar cues as the recently launched XT4. The model blends a sharply styled front-end style with a more conventional profile and tailgate area. The mesh grille shares the design with XT4 and slim headlights add also modern flair. The sculpted front bumper is more aggressively styled than on most rivals.

The tailgate has also dynamic design and vertical taillights fit nicely to the rear-end style. The model will also get the attention with the standard 20-inch wheels and 21-inch units on Sport version.

INTERIOR, EQUIPMENT

Inside the cabin, the new model provides generous passenger and cargo capacity although the third row won’t be comfortable for adults. The cargo room measures 12.6 cubes with all seats up. With the third row folded, the cargo space grows to 43.1 cubes and max capacity with the mid-row non-functional is 78.7 cubes.

The interior of the model comes treated with the soft leather upholstery and real wood in the Premium trim and Sport version combines leather with carbon fiber.

The tech-loaded model has an 8-inch-based infotainment system including the rotary knob controller. There are also two USB ports for each row of seats and new Caddy provides also wireless charging, 4G LTE connectivity, Bose sound system, etc. The model will also offer heated and ventilated front seats, heated middle row, air freshener, etc

. The brand prioritizes also the safety of passengers and it comes with the long list of the standard, active safety systems. The list covers system like automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, front and rear park assist, lane keep assist, etc. For more money, the list will add surround view and night vision camera, adaptive cruise control, reverse automatic emergency braking, etc.

2021 CADILLAC XT6 RELEASE, PRICE

The new 2021 Cadillac XT6 should go on sale in two trims this spring. The price will appear closer to the launch but most models should cost between $50,000 and $60,000.
