The 2020 BMW X4 is faster with the strongest petrol unit. It needs only 5 seconds to sprint from zero to 60 mph. However, it increases fuel consumption. Owners of previous editions couldn’t achieve over 33 mpg on the highway. The least fuel-friendly drivetrain is xDrive35i with fuel economy under 25 mpg.
The 2020 X4 is going to use a 6-speed automatic transmission. BMW is developing the new one, but we will rather like to see the old one.
2020 BMW X4 FEATURES AND EQUIPMENT
The 2020 BMW X4 will come with a more robust equipment than the X3. Some of these are xenon headlights, front and rear parking sensors, and sports variable steering. Larger SUV carries 18-inch wheels, comfort gets a boost from heated front seats, and automatic opening of the tailgate is making a life easier. The “M” equipment, with 19-inch wheels, sports suspension, characteristic “M” details, and, of course, sports seats will also be offered once again.

M PACKAGE
The M40i model of the 2020 BMW X4 is definitely the most interesting crossover in the lineup. It doesn’t change only the engine, but also interior. If you thought that the cabin of this luxurious SUV can’t be more elegant and comfortable, the M40i is there to prove everyone wrong. Leather upholstery with at least 6 color combinations for seats and stitching would be enough for some. Even the dashboard comes in 4 different trims. The 2020 X4 M40i will have optional 20-inch wheels for more aggressive appearance.
2020 BMW X4 ENGINES
When we talk about engines, the 2020 BMW X4 will initially offer six different powertrain units. Three of them are turbo-diesel mills. Other three are petrol engines. Two of them come with a turbocharger. The diesel lineup starts with 190 hp and 295lb-ft rated xDrive20d. The xDrive30d comes with 260 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. Top of the diesel range is the xDrive35d engine that produces 315 horses and even 470 pound-feet of twisting power.
PETROL DRIVETRAINS
On the gasoline end, the base model is going to be the xDrive20i, with 184 hp and 200 lb-ft of torque. The other two will come with a turbocharger. The xDrive28i is capable to burst 250 horses and 260 lb-ft, and the strongest xDrive35i can crunch 310 hp and 300 pound-feet of torque.

2020 BMW X4 RELEASE DATE AND PRICE
The 2020 BMW X4 will debut probably in New York. Five years ago, spectators saw it for the first time in the same place. However, the Auto Show in Big Apple will draw the attention of fans all over the world. The base units of the upcoming X4 crossover will cost around $50,000. It is a $2,000 compared to the current vehicle. On the other hand, the M40i trim will cost no less than $60,000. With so many options, it is not hard to tune the X4 crossover and get a much higher price. The M Sports package for the base models costs $1,700. Also, buyers can add a cold weather package or features for easier parking. Of course, there are upper trims of these packages, as well as the Premium one with lumbar support and SiriusXM satellite radio.
COMPETITION
Definitely, the German carmakers don’t spare each other wherever they compete for more buyers. It is a matter of prestige. So, the 2020 BMW X4 will face Audi Q5 and Mercedes-Benz GLC coupe as its main rivals.
